43° Shank Angle
Deep-tillage sweeps are at home deep in the dirt busting up hardpan layers and tough compaction. These are tough primary tillage tools designed to aerate and granulate the sub-layers while leaving trash on the surface for protection. Our deep-tillage line of sweeps is wide and includes many sweeps with unique elements, including our Dart Sweeps, Penetrator Sweeps, Flanged Sweeps, Parallel Wing Sweeps, and SlimWedge System. These sweeps have carefully engineered design features to help you get the most out of your time and equipment.
Our Penetrator wing geometry is a patented design feature and it can be found in many of our product lines. A bend along the wing span pitches the forward cutting edge down and presents the ground surface with a steeper blade angle of 37°. This reduces the load required to penetrate a hard, dry surface of soil by up to 55%. This bend also serves to make the sweep ultra rigid so you can trust it to put up with some tough conditions.
Parallel Wing sweeps have their wingtips ‘clipped’. When compared to Regular sweeps, these sweeps have more material, they will last through many more acres tilled. The clipped wings also prevent the sweep from losing width as it wears out, maintaining its original width and netting you more consistent results.
